A custom-shaped, reinforced canvas tote and matching silk-screened print designed from scratch as a functional gift for architects and designers. This project was a direct response to a specific logistical pain point: professionals lugging heavy tile samples in random, flimsy bags. To solve this, I developed a unique, proprietary silhouette with a specialized system of internal compartments engineered to carry significant weight with grace and style, transforming a daily chore into a seamless branded experience.
The bag features a hand drawn illustration of an Italian interior, incorporating the brand’s signature, bestselling gorseciki tiles. The artwork utilizes hand-drawn motifs inspired by the iconic 1955 painting The Studio by Pablo Picasso.
The Business Value: Merchandising is most effective when it solves a real-world problem. This project functioned as a gesture of brand friendship, signaling a deep understanding the daily needs of their core audience. The totes became an instant “must-have” within the design community, with demand far exceeding the limited supply. Ultimately, this transformed a promotional item into a highly coveted “cult” object that reinforced the brand’s prestige and status among architectural studios.
