YEAR: 2025 CLIENT: UNIQLO

SERVICE: Mural Design, Illustration, Event Visual Identity, Wayfinding, Merch & Gifts

To celebrate the reopening of Uniqlo’s flagship Wars Sawa Junior store in Warsaw, a permanent large-scale mural and a series of custom graphics were commissioned to anchor the global brand in local culture.
The centerpiece is an expansive mural inspired by the legend of Wars and Sawa—the fisherman and mermaid whose love story founded the capital city of Poland (hence the name Warszawa). The visual language merges modernist geometry with motifs from traditional Polish papercuts (wycinanki) and Masovian folk art, integrating iconic landmarks like the Palace of Culture and Science into a vibrant, pulsating composition. Beyond the walls, the collaboration extended into the brand’s core services. Three original designs were created for the UTme! print-on-demand service, alongside a bespoke collection of embroidery motifs for RE.UNIQLO (a dedicated space for garment repair and personalization).
The Business Value: For a global giant like Uniqlo, entering a new market requires cultural resonance. The project drove massive foot traffic during the grand opening (attended by the Japanese Ambassador) and established a permanent “Instagrammable” landmark within the store. The personalization services saw immediate commercial success, with both locals and tourists eagerly purchasing the artist-designed motifs as unique, high-quality souvenirs of Warsaw.
